The Italian fashion house, now led at the helm by Gianni's sister, Donatella Versace, featured two "strong" and "powerful" manly elements at the presentation of its autum/fall collection. Cowboy vs. Biker was the theme of the high fashion brand's fashion show.
The cowboy and biker theme could be felt from start to finish. The Vesrsace Men fashion show begun with the vroom vroom of a big bike's engine. Automobile grilles, trees from the plains, and an arch made of wheels, cogs and other bike parts completed the biker and cowboy feel of the venue.
"Our cowboy is macho, he's a biker ... he doesn't have a horse," Donatella Versace mentioned after the show. This statement echoes what she said at an interview 24 hours prior the high fashion brand's anticipated Men's Collection fashion show.
The Versace Men's fashion show was a contrast between western cowboy wear and rock'n'roll biker staples. Shirts and jackets with details of gold-detailed cowboy boots and diamante sheriff badge, pre-greased oil printed jeans, and leather trousers could be seen on the catwalk.
As usual, models exuded glamor, luxury and sex through luxurious fabrics like cashmere, ponyskin, and real gold thread. The Versace Men fashion show took classic men's clothing from functional outdoor wardrobe to embody the Versace men of today.
